After the resounding success of the 2024 edition of the Cavista Technologies Hackathon, we are calling on all tech enthusiasts to participate in the 2025 edition of our hackathon contest and unleash your genius. 

This year, we are going to be even bigger and calling on select tertiary institutions in Lagos and its environs to register and solve real life problems, taking your skills to the next level 

Participants will engage in a contest where ideas come to life, teamwork thrives, and innovation takes center stage. 

Our theme for this year is Smart Automation: Enhancing Care through Integrated Systems 

Winning earns you bragging rights and opens you all to even bigger opportunities in the industry. You might just be the nest Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest tech engineers in the world!

How do I apply?

Click on the registration link and complete the application form. 

You must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled as a student in a tertiary institution within Lagos State and its environs. 

Registration closes on the 16th of February.

It will start at 9:00 am and finish at 3:00 pm. The Hackathon is 48 hours (about 2 days)

We are looking for teams with 3 to 5 members. 

To participate in the hackathon, registration is a must. You have two options: either create a team or join an existing one. If you have a friend who has already registered and formed a team, simply request the team’s name from them and input it during your registration process. However, if you’re the first member of your team to register, you’ll need to come up with a team name of your own. 

The Cavista Technologies Hackathon welcomes participants from all majors and experience levels, making it the ideal platform to embark on your first project. Beyond coding, teams will flourish with the infusion of creativity and innovative ideas brought by students. 

We embrace the philosophy of ‘each one, teach one.’ Our event offers a unique opportunity for individuals in the creative and cultural industries to unite, share knowledge, and collaborate on solutions to critical challenges, fostering a culture of continuous learning and mutual support. 

Yes, the application does not guarantee a spot to participate in the event.  

It doesn’t matter. You now have a chance to be part of something transformative from the start!  

The judging panel will comprise representatives from Cavista Technologies, and an External judge to be decided by the committee.  

No. All projects must begin at the Cavista Technologies Hackathon, but you are welcome to consider project ideas prior to the day of the event. Projects can range from solving personal, social, or business challenges through new, altered, and innovative technologies. 

No, participation in the Cavista Technologies Hackathon is free of charge! The hacker experience includes food, drinks, snacks, and event swag, which will be handed out to attendees during the event. 

The Cavista Technologies Hackathon will not supply hardware, but we encourage participants to use online hardware simulators. Please remember to bring your own laptop to the event. 

Judges will be using a scorecard to evaluate the different projects. Key criteria to be assessed are Impact, Desirability, Feasibility, Viability, Team diversity/ Collaboration, Presentation, and Adherence to theme. 

The team that develops the project is the owner of the intellectual property and project. 

Yes, provided you use the correct attribution.  

The problem we’re solving is the lack of coordination in healthcare, causing delays and inefficiencies. We aim to use smart automation to streamline and improve the system.

All food provided will adhere to the specifications of the Host Institution.
